What is FAME II / EMPS / PM E-DRIVE?
Central government subsidy schemes for EV buyers.
FAME II ran 2019-March 2024, providing direct subsidies for EV purchases. Replaced by EMPS (Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme) and PM E-DRIVE for 2024-2026. Subsidies now focus more on 2W/3W and commercial EVs. Most state policies continue to offer personal EV subsidies.
