    What is AC Charging?

Slow, home-friendly charging using alternating current.

Alternating current (AC) charging delivers electricity from the grid to your car's onboard charger, which converts it to DC for the battery. Speeds: 3.3 kW (slow, 8-14 hrs), 7.4 kW (medium, 4-6 hrs), 11 kW (faster, 2-4 hrs). AC is used at homes, offices, and public AC stations — cheap but slow.
